33 Books on How to Live: My Reading List for the Long Now Foundation’s Manual for Civilization

More books to read.

The curator of this book list felt the choices would ‘sustain modern civilization and the human spirit — books at the intersection of introspection and outrospection, art and science, self and society.’

I’ve only read one of the books, and that is The Color Purple by Alice Walker. From a book perspective, it covers the intersection of race and sexuality, as well as abuse. I do think it is an important work, but it is sad that I haven’t read any of the other books on the list.

Not sure if I’ll get around to reading them all, as whenever I remove one book from my TBR list another five are added to it.
